The first one to start school was Ruthie:
A few days later it was the boys' turn:
And last, but not least, Leah began her school year this week:
Routine is truly one of my favorite things!!
"The Road goes ever on and on / Down from the door where it began. / Now far ahead the Road has gone, / And I must follow, if I can, / Pursuing it with eager feet, / Until it joins some larger way / Where many paths and errands meet. / And whither then? I cannot say." - J. R. R. Tolkien

Slip and Slide
Three of the four kiddos have started back to school already, but we didn't let that stop us from getting in a little more water fun while the weather is still hot. We hauled out the slip and slide and let them go to town. I wasn't sure what Leah would think (she hates baths and swimming pools), but she loved having her Daddy fling her down the slide!
I don't think I have updated the blog on Leah and her new school. There is a school here in town that serves half typically-developing children, and half children with disabilities. We put Leah on the wait list for this school the moment we decided to adopt a child with special needs -- way before we knew who she was! Even so, the list is so long we did not hold out a lot of hope that she would be admitted. But in early June, we got the phone call we had prayed for! Leah begins tomorrow. She will receive the services of speech, physical, occupational, and music therapists all on site. We are so grateful.
Goodbye, summer!
