Leah was baptized last month:
Leah has also had tons of doctor appointments lately. She went to the eye doctor, who told us that for now, she does not need glasses. She does mainly use one eye (her left), so we have to patch that eye for a few hours daily to hopefully teach her brain to use her right eye again. She also has nystagmus (her eyes move back and forth involuntarily), but no treatment is necessary for now.

Leah has had a series of appointments at the pediatrician's office to catch her up on shots. One more appointment next week, and she will be up-to-date! Today, Leah went to the cardiologist who gave her a perfect report. Children with down syndrome are much more likely to have heart defects, so this was wonderful news! The most pressing issue for Leah is that at her appointment with the ENT, she failed her hearing test. She has very small ear canals, and the doctor believes she has a lot of fluid in her ears. She is scheduled to get tubes in her ears the end of this month. We have great hopes that this will help her hearing and give her a better chance to acquire language.

Finally, we have had a series of tests and meetings with the school system to develop a plan for her services and education. We are trying to figure out where she will be attending preschool next year, so we appreciate your prayers for that plan to come together soon!
