Spamalot!

This past month has been extraordinarily busy, largely due to the fact that Greg was participating in one of his not-so-secret loves: theater!  He played Sir Dennis Galahad in a local theater production of Monty Python's Spamalot!  I hope that those of you who are local got the chance to go.  It was so well done and hilarious; I ended up going to three of the five performances and never got tired of it!  Let me also mention how proud I am of Greg.  I know I am biased because I am in love with the man, but he was SO good!  Acting, singing, dancing...yes, you read that correctly -- lots of dancing!

Major Step Finished

I got a wonderful phone call from our social worker yesterday saying that our home study is done!  AND, our I-800A form is sent off to US immigration.  Approval usually takes 2-3 months, so we wait.  In the meantime, there are some more documents and other things we need to collect for the dossier we send to China.  During this time, we also need to make firm decisions about what kind of special needs we are willing to consider, and we appreciate prayers for wisdom.

Yum!

Our casserole fundraiser is underway!

"Bring Them to the Table is a frozen casserole fundraiser benefiting the adoption fund of two families who are in the process of international adoptions.  By purchasing a casserole and bringing your family around the table for a meal, you will be helping bring children home and to the table of their forever families.  The casseroles have been lovingly prepared by the women of [our church]."

We took orders for the first month and will be busily cooking this week.  I am so thankful to the ladies at our church who have volunteered so much time and energy to help us with this project!  I started tonight:

Baked ziti
Ready to go in the freezer!
Our home study is on the desk of our social worker's supervisor.  Any day we could get the call saying it is approved!  Once it is approved, we send it off to US Citizenship and Immigration Services with our Form I-800A, "Application for Determination of Suitability to Adopt a Child from a Convention Country."  Processing that form takes an estimated 2-3 months.  It will be a lot of waiting, but hopefully cooking casseroles will keep us pretty busy in the meantime!
